So many posts, so little content...

A wise person recently said "don't blog because it could "get you out there". Blog because you want to blog. There are too many people blogging out there already and too few with anything to say."

I have been adhering to that lately. I have some story ideas and the like stored up that I am tinkering with and various other blog worthy topics but you just have to wait until they formulate themselves.

In the meantime, AYHSMB.

Look it up. Its hilarious.

Also, don't forget, Scout-A-Rama is this weekend at the South Towne Expo Center. Race for the cure is next weekend.

The Cure....

No, not the super-freaks from the 80's, although that would be ok too.

I am talking about the Susan G Komen race for the cure.

The Weekend of Jeff....

Jeff turned 14 this weekend. (On Saturday.)

Damn.

He is old.

Anyways for his Birthday, we went to Hastur's and got our geek on. After spending an eternity looking through comics, games, and D&D books, he decided on some expansion figurines for his D&D Miniatures game. After that little jaunt, we went home to have lunch with our lovely ladies and then....Nickelcade. Don't worry. I took some excedrin in advance. Wandering around the arcade with a pocket full of jingles really brought back some memories for me. It was a great day spent mostly hanging with the two coolest guys I know.

Oh, and for the record, there was NO cake. Root beer floats were the dessert du jour.

Yummy. Cake is for freaks.

Have a great day!

Another critically important post.

Today's post is brought to you by the letter "Q" and the number 17.

I am in a ranting mood today and am feeling rather grumpy so I am not really posting anything.

Expect frogs. And mice.

And don't forget pickles.

Aren't you glad you wasted 25 seconds of your life reading this? :-)

Have you ever tried fried bananas? I have. They are kind of gross.

Ok, now close your eyes and pretend I ranted about all of the things that are clouding up my brain this morning.

Ok, now you are offended. It happens. I am sure you will get over it.

Wow, in the minute or two I spent writing this, I have deleted three different rants from the body of this post. My brain is screwy. I need to stop now. But before I do, I want you to research the difference between salvation by grace and salvation by works. Which one makes the most sense to you?

Now go make yourself have a WONDERFUL day.

Anniversary

datenight2

So monday was our 15th anniversary. Mark had requested the whole week off. Unfortunately he spent the first few days quite sick. It was great having him home. Having lunch together and hanging out. It was like a week long celebration of our anniversary. Monday we went to dinner as a family. Friday Mark and I went and saw fast and furious (which I really liked, he said he did to but he may have just been humoring me.) Saturday we got all gussied up and went to a really nice dinner at Fratelli's (which I probably just spelled incorrectly) it was wonderful, authentic Italian food, with a lovely atmosphere. Then we went to the store to get some cheesecake for the family. You cant see it in the pic, but I was wearing super high strappy black heels. I'm sure Kim would have rocked them, but I am high heel challenged so I was wobbling like a weeble. Mark said he would holler and sing to pull attention away from my barely being able to walk. The image that conjured in my head gave me a serious case of the giggles. So I was having a laughing fit in the store wobbling along. probably not looking so much like a weeble anymore, just drunk.

The reason I tell the weeble wobble story even though you probably didn't care to hear it is because it demonstrates some of my favorite things about being with my Mark. He is funny as hell, I spend so much time laughing, and he can make me laugh whenever he wants. Also that he would do anything for me. Including but not limited to making a fool of himself in public. I could tell you dozens of stories when he has been a spectacle on my behalf. There are billions of reasons why I love Mark. I will spare you the details, suffice it to say I AM WITHOUT A DOUBT THE LUCKIEST, BEST LOVED, WOMAN IN THE WORLD. Ahhhh is good to be me.

The Greatest EVER

Last night, John Stockton, the Greatest Basketball Player EVER!, was inducted in to the Professional Basketball Hall of Fame.

Oh yeah, some guy named Michael Jordan was also inducted but no one has ever heard of him.

Here is a YouTube clipshow that seemed fairly good.

Another pair of pants to sell on eBay...

Hmm. Chad Vader.... I realize I may be too geek-a-rific for this to appeal to anyone else but it is damn funny.

Am I happy...am I sad...am I happy...am I sad?

The other day I heard about a "big deal" trade in the NFL. It has been a well publicised story that Jay Cutler was unhappy playing for the Denver Broncos. (Who wouldn't be?) When I heard that he was traded to my Bears, I was happy, then sad, then concerned, then confused, then I wondered if it was a prank.

And then I read the story:

Joining Bears a dream come true for Pro Bowl QB Cutler - Chicago Bears.

They traded Kyle Orton, and two first round draft picks for Cutler. While Cutler is, in my opinion, a much better QB than Orton, I really, REALLY liked Orton as the QB for my team. His style and attitude fit with how MY Bears have always played ball.

The only real experience that I have with Cutler is the whining and moaning that I have seen this off-season.

I am aprehensive but optimistic. And now I need to watch Bronco games to keep up on Orton, Jets games to keep up on Thomas Jones, and read about the Bengals (no one in their right mind watches Bengals games) to make sure Cedric Benson continues to fail.

At least Rex Grossman hasn't been signed yet...

Suprisingly NOT an April's Fool post.

I have struggled with what to post today. Honestly, I am still feeling way too shitty to come up with anything good.

I did, however, stumble across the link at the bottom of this post...

Apparently people are obsessed with cornholes. Give me a minute to laugh like the adolescent that I am...

...

...

Ok. Anyways,  although *I* have not personally engaged in any cornhole activity, I am sure some of you have, and have probably enjoyed it. (Although cornhole related injuries are a concern.) I hear a lot of people do it wrong or don't try using the proper materials.

Anyways, now that your mind is completely buried in the gutter, click the link.

If you don't know why this is so funny to me...bless your heart. I applaud your naivity.
